Campers will experience the best that the city has to offer, including: the Boston City Duck Tour, Quincy Market, Boston Common, Prudential Tower Skywalk, the New England Aquarium, Six Flags Amusement Park, Harvard University tour, the Museum of Fine Arts, Cape Cod and the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard, Water Wizz Water Park and more.
Boston English Camp
for youth 7 to 17 years of age
The Boston Camp is located at Curry College situated on 135-acre wooded campus and only 7 miles from the downtown core of Boston. This very safe campus is right next door to the Blue Hills natural reservation, which offers breath taking views and outdoor recreation opportunities.
English Classes
15 hours per week, On their first day, students are tested and assigned to an English class based on their level. Students follow a carefully designed curriculum that stresses all English skills including speaking, reading, writing, grammar, listening and vocabulary.
OPTIONAL – Robotics (additional cost)
Learn and have fun with robotics. This program uses the VEX Robotics System which offers teens an exciting platform for learning about career opportunities spanning science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Through STEM learning, campers grow their ability to tackle complex problems and develop their curiosity and passion to learn and explore. Beyond science and engineering principles, a VEX Robotics project also encourages team work, leadership and problem solving among groups.
This program is designed for collaborative learning. Students are encouraged s to utilize their English skills and any prior knowledge or experience with robotics or STEM. When not in class, students enjoy planned activities on campus as well as field trips to explore the wonderful city of Boston. Students will tour Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) and Harvard, two universities leading the industry on technology and entrepreneurship. To further develop their knowledge and understanding of robotics, students will enjoy a robotics engineering workshop hosted by M.I.T.
Activities & Excursions
Campers take part in instructional activities 3 half days a week. Our certified coaches and teachers lead students in activities like mountain biking, field sports, swimming, arts and crafts, theatre games and leadership skills. In the evenings, students enjoy fun social activities including dance parties, carnivals, photo scavenger hunts, tournaments and more…
Each week, campers enjoy a full day excursion to places such as Six Flags Amusement Park, the high speed ferry to Martha’s Vineyard on Cape Cod and Water Wizz Water Park. Campers also go on one or two half-day excursions each week to famous tourist attractions in Boston. All excursions are included in the price and campers are supervised by our competent staff.
On Sundays, students in residence have the chance to take part in some optional activities like bike riding along the river, trips to the beach or shopping in the city center.
Accommodation
Residence: The student residence is comprised of double and single rooms in a suite style setting (6 per suite). Each suite is equipped with two single bathrooms, a kitchenette and a common space. Meals are all you can eat style and served in the campus dining hall. Campus recreation facilities include gyms, a pool, sports fields, and computer labs with free internet access.
Self-Arranged: Students may choose to stay with relatives in Boston.
